Word Oracles
Where the Sun Never Sets is a curatorial proposition by Dimitri Chimonas. It explores the themes of colonialism, neoliberal policies, environmental distraction, and global systemic tiredness from
the paradoxes of the post-colonial, millennial Cypriot position. The title WHERE THE SUN NEVER SETS is borrowed from the surrealist crime novel The Sleepwalker by Margarita Karapanou, which is suiting theme in the sense that the whole residency concluded with a 12 hour long happening on 20th July 2024 in Cyprus where it feels like the sun never sets. The programme included series of workshops, field trips, and an artistic residency that led to the collaborative creation of a 12-hour event, centred around a re-edition of Viktor Szeriʼs performance Fatigue. Through out the residency the resident artists also shared knowledge experience and offered various workshops as well as multiple discussion circles.
Word Oracles is a participatory performance by Kris Adem and Hayal Gezer, where we selected individuals, couples or small groups of people delivered their "fortune" via interpreting words they randomly selected from a comprehensive common Cypriot words in Turkish and Greek dialect dictionary.

Sirens
Sirens (or False Promises) is a performance directed by Kris Adem. It is a collaborative performance where the audience was lured into the woods with false promises of special cocktails and free alcohol only to find themselves in an olive orchard waiting. The performance climaxes with war siren like call and response coming from various directions produced by almost all the resident artists.
